Safeguarding First offers a range of training courses that can be delivered in-house or at a central location to enable all of your staff to access critical information. There are a number of training courses that we offer currently covering various staff levels and topics. You can find out more information below. Keeping Children Safe in Education (Level 1) Safeguarding Awareness Raising: |
A session designed for the whole workforce (teaching & non-teaching) and anyone else who comes into contact with your children on a regular basis. These sessions will keep them regularly updated with policies and procedures and ensure they are aware of their responsibilities under ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education 2024’ as well as your school child protection policies & practices. These sessions can be delivered in-house face-to-face or online via Zoom. This session is 2hrs. |

Designated Safeguarding Lead Responsibilities (Level 2): |
A full day session to take new designated leads through their roles and responsibilities under ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education 2024’. This training is held at Ramside Hall Hotel in Durham (DH1 1TD)Delegates will receive all documentation required for the day. Refreshments and lunch will be provided. |

Strategic Safeguarding Governor Training: |
An opportunity to consider how well your Governing body quality assures and holds to account your senior leadership team in carrying out their statutory duty to safeguard and promote the welfare of children in your care as stated in ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education 2024’, Education Act 2002 section 175, Children Act 1989 & Children Act 2004 section 10 & 14b,the Education (Independent School Standards) Regulation 2014, the Education non-maintained special schools (England) Regulation 2015 and Ofsted section 5 inspection framework 2023. These sessions can be delivered in-house face-to-face or online via Zoom. This session is 2hrs. Supervision Training: |
Supervision is one of the most important factors in the development of effective and critical practice in the area of child protection. This full day centralised session delivered via Zoom which will look at the purpose and impact of supervision, the role of supervisor and supervisee, boundries of supervision, values and critical reflection. During the afternoon session there will be an opportunity for you to undertake your first structured supervision session under observation and with support from us.As part of the training you will receive: Supervision Policy, Supervision Contract, Supervision Recording Document and a 12 month Supervision Scheme of Work to use in your setting. |
